課程簡介 In this module we looked at what culture is and what it is not, as well as the influence that stereotypes and values have on behavior. We have determined the fact that culture has a huge influence on behavior and that not all types of behaviors are the result of culture. We looked at the four building blocks of culture; concept of self, personal versus societal responsibilities, concept of time and locus of control. We learned that if we understand the effect these have on peoples’ behavior, we could become more tolerant of cultural differences.

課程簡介 At this stage you should have a very good idea why it is important to make a good first impression as well as the potholes you need to avoid. We also looked at and practiced the language you need to use when meeting someone for the first time. You should be familiar with those phrases and able to use them in a variety of situations. We focused on the importance and necessity of making small talk. We looked at some topics and the reasons why some of them should be avoided. Last we looked at the importance of questions. We identified the different types of questions and also looked at how to use these questions effectively. Remember to keep on practicing. 課程簡介 In this module, we will look at some general guidelines we need to follow when socializing with people from other cultures as well as the importance of being socially sensitive. We also look at the business language we need to use and how to include ourselves in a conversation, how to include someone else in a conversation and how to act when someone introduces us to others in a group. You should know how to conduct yourself when invited to someone’s house and feel quite confident using western cutlery and crockery.
